Dolly Parton says she would consider becoming a celebrity coach on NBC's The Voice--as opposed to the other singing talent shows like American Idol and X Factor--because she wouldn't be forced to criticize the contestants as much. "I could imagine myself doing The Voice. It's a wonderful show because you don't have to judge that much, and I hesitate to judge people," Parton explained to Britain's Daily Star.
"I've been asked to do American Idol and X Factor almost every time they do a new series but turned them down," she added.
Based on the high turnover of judges that all of these shows experience, it's possible that Parton might get the opportunity to star on The Voice sometime soon.
The upcoming season will see coaches Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green depart due to their inability to juggle their own careers with the show's hectic taping schedule. They were replaced by Usher and Shakira.
