Eric Clapton has released "Looking at the Rain," a Gordon Lightfoot cover that Clapton recorded back in 1977 during the Slowhand sessions. The song is one of four unreleased songs that will be on the upcoming 35th anniversary edition of Slowhand.
The song was originally released by Lightfoot in 1972 on the album, Don Quixote. Clapton reportedly recorded the song early on, but decided not to include it in the final album. Dick Sims is featured on keyboards with Jamie Oldaker on drums on the track.
The song will be available on all five of the Slowhand anniversary editions that come out in the US on December 18. Of the five anniversary editions, there will be a remastered, a deluxe edition, and a super deluxe, among others.
