Mark Wahlberg has reportedly signed on to produce a new hacker film penned by Jonathan Herman. Thus far the project is untitled but various sources confirm it will center on a ruthless hack that targets his attacks on the population of a large high school.
Wahlberg will join Stephen Levinson as producer on the film, which hollywoodreporter.com says will be loosely based on an article from GQ titled "The Hacker is Watching." The project is in development with Universal Pictures.
The pair have a proven track record, producing together on two HBO mega-smash original series, "Boardwalk Empire" and "Entourage." It could mark the breakout script for Herman, who has landed on the Black List twice for "Conviction" and "Rites of Men."
