Austria Inflation Holds Steady In November

Austria's inflation held steady in November, data released by Statistics Austria showed on Friday.

The harmonized index of consumer prices rose 2.9 percent year-on-year in November, equaling October's pace. In September, the EU measure of inflation rose 2.8 percent.

Inflation based on the consumer price index also remained unchanged from October. The figure held steady at 2.8 percent. In September, CPI inflation was 2.7 percent.

During November, food prices rose at a faster rate of 3.6 percent annually compared to 3 percent in October. Health costs were higher by 2.5 percent compared to 2 percent in the previous month.

Price increase in the utility group eased to 2.8 percent from 3.1 percent. The rate of increase slowed for transport and communication costs.

Month-on-month, the HICP as well as the CPI edged up 0.1 percent in November.
