Turkey Tourist Arrivals Rise In November

The number of visitors to Turkey increased at a faster pace in November, data released by the Ministry of Tourism showed Tuesday.

Visitor arrivals rose 2.21 percent year-on-year, following a modest 0.37 percent increase in October. In November 2011, arrivals were 7.06 percent higher than a year ago.

The number of visitors totaled 1.63 million compared to 3.05 million in the previous month and 1.60 million in the same month last year. The biggest share of visitors were from Germany, followed by Georgia.

During the January to November period, visitor arrivals rose 0.59 percent from last year to 30.43 million.
