Gainers:

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is rising nearly 3 percent to $547.26.

Boeing Co. (BA) is gaining nearly 2 percent to $76.64. The company announced an order by Aviation Capital Group for 60 737 MAX airplanes, which is worth $6 billion at current list prices.

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) is gaining nearly 3 percent to $12.21.

Zipcar, Inc. (ZIP) is jumping over 47 percent to $12.16. Avis Budget Group, Inc. (CAR) has agreed to buy the car sharing network for $12.25 per share in cash, representing a total transaction value of about $500 million.

Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (SGYP) is surging 18 percent to $6.20. The company announced that plecanatide, its investigational oral drug for the treatment of chronic idiopathic constipation, was well tolerated and met the primary and key secondary endpoints of a Phase IIb/III clinical study.

NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI) is up more than 4 percent to $27.50.

Solazyme, Inc. (SZYM) is up 8 percent to $8.50.
