As widely expected, the Bank of England kept the size of its bond buying program unchanged at GBP 375 billion and the interest rates unchanged at record low 0.50 percent.
The pound held steady against its major rivals after the rate announcement. As of 7:05 am ET, the sterling was trading at 1.6054 against the dollar, 141.47 against the yen, 0.8166 against the euro and 1.4813 versus the Swiss franc.
