SemiLEDs Q1 Loss Widens

SemiLEDs Corp. (LEDS) reported that its first-quarter GAAP net loss attributable to stockholders was $8.9 million or a net loss of $0.32 per share, compared to a net loss of $7.7 million, or a net loss of $0.28 per share, for the first quarter of fiscal 2012.

On a non-GAAP basis, net loss attributable to stockholders for the first quarter of fiscal 2013 was $8.6 million, or a net loss of $0.31 per share, compared to non-GAAP net loss of $7.1 million, or a net loss of $0.26 per share, for the first quarter of fiscal 2012. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.29 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2013 was $6.2 million, an 8% decrease compared to $6.7 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2012. Two analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $6.39 million for the quarter.
