S&T Bancorp, Inc. (STBA) Tuesday reported a decline in profit for the fourth quarter, mainly on lower net-interest income.

Net income available to common shareholders dropped to $34.2 million or $1.18 per share from $39.65 million or $1.41 per share in the same period last year.

On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.32 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net-interest income decreased to $139.70 million from $141.50 million last year. Non-interest income totaled $48.90 million, up from $44.18 million last year.
