Acme Packet Inc. (APKT) announced Monday morning that it agreed to be acquired by Oracle Corp. (ORCL) for $29.25 per share in cash, or $2.1 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2013.
Acme Packet has gapped open sharply higher Monday and is now up 5.37 at $29.30 on strong volume. The stock is now challenging resistance, trading at a 9-month high.
