Baidu Inc. (BIDU) reported fourth quarter earnings per ADS, excluding share-based compensation expenses, of $1.31 after the close Monday. The consensus estimate was for earnings of $1.29 per share. Baidu's revenues grew to $1.02 billion, up 41.6 percent from last year. The consensus revenue estimate was $1.01 billion.
Baidu expects to generate total revenues of $945.4 million to $975.9 million in the first quarter. Analysts currently have a consensus revenue estimate of $967.09 million.
Baidu gapped open sharply lower Tuesday and is now down 10.50 at $96.70 on above average volume. The stock has dropped to a 5-week low and has fallen below its 50-day moving average.
