CareFusion Corp. (CFN) reported net income for the second quarter of $108 million or $0.48 per share, compared to $95 million or $0.42 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the latest quarter were $0.54 per share.
Revenue for the second quarter rose 2% to $909 million from $890 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.53 per share on revenue of $907.48 million for the second quarter
CareFusion said it continues to expect fiscal year 2013 consolidated revenue to grow 1% to 3% on a constant currency basis compared to fiscal 2012 revenue of $3.6 billion. Adjusted earnings from continuing operations are expected to be in the range of $2.11 to $2.21 per share.
Analysts currently expect the company to earn $2.15 per share on revenue growth of 1.5% for the fiscal year 2013.
