Campbell Soup Q2 Profit Decreases On Higher Expenses - Quick Facts

Campbell Soup Company (CPB) reported second-quarter net earnings of $190 million, or $0.60 per share, compared to $205 million, or $0.64 per share, prior year. Excluding restructuring and restructuring-related charges, adjusted net earnings increased to $220 million or $0.70 per share, from $207 million or $0.64 per share prior year.

Net sales were $2.33 billion compared to $2.11 billion last year.

The company confirmed its fiscal 2013 guidance. Campbell expects to grow sales between 10 percent and 12 percent. The company expects adjusted profit per share to be between $2.51 and $2.57.
