The Lionel Richie and Diana Ross ballad, "Endless Love," has been named the Number One Love Song of All Time by Billboard.

The 1981 track, which held the number one spot on the charts for nine weeks during the course of that year, was written by Richie for the eponymous Franco Zeffirelli film, and also managed to land Richie an Oscar nomination.

The list's top ten track include hits by Boyz II Men, Rihanna, Bee Gees, Wings, Whitney Houston, Mario, the Emotions, Stevie B and Ray Charles.

Rihanna's song "We Found Love" is the most recent to be included on the list, with the Teddy Bears' "To Know Him is to Love Him" is the its oldest song.

The list was compiled by ranking every song with the word "love" in the title over the Hot 100's seven-decade history and ranking each track by popularity.
