Retail giant Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (WMT) is scheduled to report fourth quarter results. The company is expected to post earnings of $1.57 per share, higher than the year-ago quarter's $1.44 per share. Also, the company is anticipated to generate revenues of $128.77 billion compared to $123.17 billion in the prior-year quarter. The company's shares closed Wednesday's session at $69.21. Packaged foodmaker H. J. Heinz Co. (HNZ) is expected to post third quarter results. The earnings for the quarter are expected to decline to $0.90 per share from $0.95 per share reported a year ago. Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania-based company is anticipated to generate revenues of $2.99 billion, higher than last year's $2.92 billion. Computer and printer maker Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) is scheduled to report first-quarter results. The company is expected to report earnings of $0.71 per share, lower than $0.92 per share last year. Further, the Palo, Alto, California-based company is expected to record revenues of $27.79 billion, a decline from last year's $30.04 billion. The shares closed Wednesday at $16.70. Apparel store chain Nordstrom Inc. (JWN) is slated to report results for the fourth quarter. The Seattle, Washington-based company is projected to report a profit of $1.34 per share versus $1.11 per share last year. Financial management solutions provider Intuit Inc. (INTU) is due to post its second quarter results. The Mountain View, California-based company is expected to report earnings of $0.30 per share, a sharp decline from $0.51 per share last year. Quarterly revenues are projected to decline to $963.19 million from last year's $1.02 billion. Shares of INTU closed Wednesday's trade at $61.42. (52-wk H/L $64.47/$53.38)

Lodging real estate investment trust Host Hotels & Resorts Inc. (HST) is expected to report results for the fourth quarter. The company is expected to earn $0.38 per share on revenues of $1.72 billion for the quarter. In the year-ago quarter, earnings and revenue were $0.31 per share and $1.66 billion respectively. The shares closed Wednesday at $17.03. (52-wk H/L $17.57/$13.58)
