Former first lady Laura Bush has requested that her image be removed from an advertisement supporting same sex marriage, according to multiple reports.

The advertisement was created by the group Respect for Marriage Coalition and features Mrs. Bush alongside her husband, President Barack Obama, former secretary of state Colin Powell and Dick Cheney.

The ad uses interview snippets from each figure making statements that would seemingly support the argument for equal marriage rights, write USAToday.com. According to Mrs. Bush's rep Anne MacDonald, however, she had no prior knowledge of the ad and does not support it:

"[She] did not approve of her inclusion in this advertisement nor is she associated with the group that made the ad in any way," MacDonald said to the Dallas Morning News. "When she became aware of the advertisement last night, we requested that the group remove her from it."
