Kathy Bates has reportedly accepted a role in the cast of FX's "American Horror Story." According to various sources Bates will star in a recurring role as the arch-enemy and former best friend of fellow Oscar winner Jessica Lange's character.
Bates joins a stocked cast already confirmed for the new season including Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, and Frances Conroy. Season one veteran Taissa Farmiga is also slated to return, says ew.com.
According to creator Ryan Murphy, the new season will push the boundaries of previous seasons:
"What we're doing is more ambitious than what we've ever done," he said adding "This one will be shot on location in three different cities in the country."
