There's some good news for Mozilla after Twitter made an announcement earlier this week. The micro-blogging company said that a new Twitter app would be shipped with devices, powered by Mozilla's new operating system. This is a wonderful development for Mozilla, since it could use all the support that it can get at the moment. With the approval of players like Twitter, others will follow suit.

"Similar to our other mobile apps, Twitter for Firefox OS has a rich interface, featuring the Home, Connect, Discover and Me tabs, as well as the search and compose Tweet icons, so you can easily find and send Tweets from anywhere in the app", the company said.

Besides, Twitter will also be adding a new feature unique to Firefox OS, called as Web Activities. This will allow users to tweet photos directly out of any app that also supports web activities such as built-in photos app.

Currently, the company is targeting all its Firefox OS-powered handsets at emerging markets. It also confirmed recently that 18 carriers have committed to its new, HTML5-friendly mobile OS. Apart from just Twitter, other apps like Facebook, SoundCloud, Disney Mobile Games, and EA Games will grace the Firefox marketplace. However, despite all these positive developments, experts are still not sure if Mozilla can really make a solid impact in the Mobile OS playing field.
