VeriFone Systems Inc. (PAY) announced after the close Monday that Douglas G. Bergeron is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors, effective March 12. VeriFone's Chairman, Richard McGinn, has been named Interim CEO, while Leslie Denend has been named Interim Chairman.
VeriFone Systems gapped open higher Tuesday and is now up 1.10 at $21.56. The stock is now trading at the upper end of a 1-week range.
