European Economics Preview: German Ifo Business Confidence Data Due

Business confidence from Germany is the major data due on Friday, headlining a light day for the European economics news.

At 3.45 am ET, the French statistical office Insee is slated to issue business confidence figures for March. The index is seen rising to 91 from 90 in February.

At 4.30 am ET, Dutch consumer spending and producer confidence reports are due. The producer sentiment index is forecast to fall to -3.8 in March from -3.6 in February.

Germany's Ifo business confidence figures are due at 5.00 am ET. Business confidence is seen at 107.8 in March, up from 107.4 in February. Economists forecast the current conditions index to rise to 110.5 from 110.2, and the expectations index to improve to 105 from 104.6 a month ago.

In the meantime, Statistics Norway is scheduled to release unemployment data. The jobless rate is expected to ease to 2.6 percent in March from 2.7 percent in February.

Also, Poland's retail sales and labor market reports are due at 5.00 am ET. The annual growth in retail sales are forecast to slow to 0.7 percent in February from 3.1 percent in January. The jobless rate is seen at 14.5 percent in February, up from 14.2 percent a month ago.
