Gilead Sciences Inc. (GILD) announced after the close Monday that it submitted a New Drug Application to the FDA for approval of sofosbuvir. Sofosbuvir is a once-daily oral nucleotide analogue for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus infection.
Gilead Sciences gapped open higher Tuesday and has climbed further in the last half hour. Shares are now up 1.44 at $48.64. The stock is challenging the upper end of nearly a 2-week range at the highs of the year.
