Retail sales in Italy continued to decline in February, the latest figures from the statistical office Istat showed Wednesday.
Sales fell 0.2 percent month-on-month in February compared with 0.4 percent drop in January. Sales of food products grew 0.2 percent from a month earlier, but sales of non-food goods fell 0.3 percent.
The unadjusted retail sales dropped 4.8 percent compared to February 2012. In annual terms, sales were down 2.8 percent in January.
