Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM,AEM.TO) Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $23.9 million or $0.14 per share, compared with $78.6 million or $0.46 per share last year.
Excluding items, normalized net income for the reporting quarter was $53.6 million or $0.31 per share.
Revenues from mining operations for the quarter were $423.19 million, compared with $474.09 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.34 per share on revenues of $415.88 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
In 2013, the company expects payable gold production to be in the range of 15,000 ounces.
Agnico-Eagle announced a quarterly cash dividend of $0.22 per common share, payable on June 15 to shareholders of record as of June 3, 2013.
