Writer and musician Greg Kihn is releasing a new novel that centers around the Beatles in the 1960s. The book, titled Rubber Soul, is set for release on September 3 and tells the story of the Fab Four's early discovery of records that would inspire some of their greatest hits.

In a press release, Kihn's publishers call the novel a "100 percent action-packed ride through Beatlemania based on 100 percent accurate historical details."

The author opened up about his inspiration for the book, saying he spoke with former band members on their record collecting habits:

"I asked where the Beatles got their records, and their answers inspired the central character, Dust Bin Bob, and this novel."

For the book, Kihn interviewed Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Patti Harrison, Yoko Ono and Pete Best.
