Whitbread plc (WTB.L) reported that its fiscal year profit before tax increased to 355.3 million pounds from 305.8 million pounds last year. Profit to parent shareholders was 303.5 million pounds or 169.46 pence per share, compared to 267.3 million pounds or 151.19 pence per share prior year.
Underlying profit before tax was 356.5 million pounds, compared to 320.1 million pounds prior year. Underlying profit per share was 149.19 pence, compared to 134.05 pence last year.
Revenue increased to 2.03 billion pounds, from 1.78 billion pounds last year. Group like for like sales were up 3.7%.
The Board of Whitbread plc recommended a final dividend payment of 37.90 pence per share, making a total dividend for the year of 57.40 pence per share, an increase of 12.0%. The final dividend will be paid on 12 July 2013 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 17 May 2013.
