Genus PLC (GNS.L,GNS.L) said that first nine months results were in line with last year's performance, with revenue flat and profit before tax 1 percent lower in constant currency, despite the impact of higher feed costs and investments being made in the business.
The company stated that in actual currency results were slightly higher in the period than constant currency due to sterling being weaker than a year ago, partially mitigating the currency drag from the first half.
In constant currency, profits in Genus PIC were up 4 percent, profits in Genus ABS were 6 percent lower and profits in Genus Asia were up 21 percent.
Genus added that it expects to end the year with low single digit percentage growth in profit before tax in constant currency.
