Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc. (SPR) reported first-quarter net income of $81 million or $0.57 per share, compared to $74 million or $0.52 per share, last year. The increase in income was partially offset by the negative impact of foreign currency exchange rates, the company said.
Excluding impact of severe weather event, profit per share was $0.61 compared to $0.52 prior year. Revenues were $1.44 billion, up 14% from $1.27 billion last year, driven by higher production volumes and model mix.
On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit of $0.46 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Analysts expected revenue of $1.41 billion for the quarter.
