Tim McGraw has opened up about what to expect from his Two Lanes of Freedom tour.

The 46-year-old country star explained that he would be foregrounding new songs--like "Two Lanes of Freedom," "Friend of a Friend," "Nashville Without You," "Mexicoma," "Southern Girl" and "Highway Don't Care"--from his latest album.

"We're playing more new songs than we ever have on this tour," he told GAC. "We've always tried to introduce new material, but this time we've got six or seven new ones off the new album."

He also explained that he will not be relying on special effects or stage gags on this tour, instead his focus will be on the band's sound:

"For me the first thing is how it sounds, and it's just gonna sound smokin'. I mean, the band just really sounds great."

The tour kicked off in Pelham, Alabama and continues on through September 2.
