Lithuania's merchandise trade deficit decreased notably in March, data released by the Department of Statistics showed Friday.
The trade deficit fell to LTL 51.8 million in March from LTL 389.7 million in February. In March 2012, the balance was a deficit of LTL 1.06 billion.
Exports increased 11.9 percent sequentially to LTL 7.477 billion. Compared to March 2012, the value of shipments climbed 18.4 percent.
Imports grew 6.5 percent month-on-month to LTL 7.529 billion. On an annual basis, external purchases increased by 2 percent during the month.
