In his new book, The Doors Unhinged: Jim Morrison's Legacy Goes on Trial, Doors drummer John Densmore discusses his public battle with fellow remaining band members Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger.
Densmore says that the issues between the three started in 2003 when Cadillac offered a multi-million deal to include the band's music in a commercial that Krieger and Manzarek wanted to accept, but Densmore was against, citing an agreement the band had made when Jim Morrison was alive to never use their music in any commercial.
From there, the issues continued when Krieger and Manzarek started touring under the Doors moniker after Densmore asked them to stop. This led to the initial lawsuit brought on by Densmore and the Morrison estate, resulting in a counter-suit by Krieger and Manzarek.
Through it all, Densmore says that he is on speaking terms with Manzarek and Krieger, and that they could possibly reunite to play some shows in the future.
