Marton Csokas is set to play the villain in the film adaptation of the cult Edward Woodward show, "The Equalizer." Denzel Washington was announced awhile back in the lead role.
The plot of the film centers on Robert McCall (Washington), a retired intelligence officer, who turns into a vigilante for the helpless.
When he decides to help a young hooker (Chloe Moretz), he gets heat from the Russian mafia, and in particular a brutal fixer plated by Csokas.
Antoine Fuqua is directing from a screenplay by Richard Wenk ("The Expendables 2"), which, in turn, is based on the CBS TV series.
The movie is set to film this summer in Boston, according to the Hollywood Reporter. It's set to hit theaters April 11, 2014.
