Zann Worrell Jr., a North Augusta, South Carolina man, is dead after getting hit with several gunshots during a robbery attempt at the barber shop he was employed, reports local news source WLTX.

According to the Aiken Standard, Worrell was approached by two men demanding money at the Island Cuts Barber Shop in Beech Island. In the ensuing struggle, Worrell took several bullets, while the two suspects—Demarcus LiQuan Booker and Raphael A. Wooden—fled in a white Honda.

"I still can't believe this has happened," Juanita Worrell, Zann's mother, told the Augusta Herald.

"I wish it was all a dream, but I know it is not. Right now, all I can do is put this tragedy in God's hands and know he will take me through."

Police caught up with the perps after a witness reported the getaway car's license plate. Both are in lock-up awaiting extradition.
