ABBA's signature hit release Gold has officially overtaken the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band as the second highest selling album ever in the U.K. Both albums have sold well over 5 million copies in the U.K alone and ABBA recently pulled ahead with an extra 15,000 copies.
News came down from Britain's Official Charts company about the unseating earlier this week. ABBA songwriter Björn Ulvaeus issued an official statement on the news, noting: "It feels unreal - outselling the greatest record of all time!"
The disco classic features tracks including "Waterloo", "Mamma Mia", "Fernando", "Dancing Queen", "Knowing Me Knowing You", "The Name Of The Game", "Take A Chance On Me", "The Winner Takes It All" and "Super Trouper".
