Pacific Sunwear Of California Q1 Loss Widens

Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. (PSUN) Wednesday said first-quarter loss widened to $24.18 million or $0.35 per share from $15.62 million or $0.23 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Loss from continuing operations totaled $24.2 million or $0.35 per share, compared to $15.2 million or $0.22 per share last year.

Adjusted loss for the quarter was $9.4 million or $0.14 per share. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.19 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues totaled $169.84 million, up from $162.26 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $164.22 million.

Looking ahead to the second quarter, the company expect to report adjusted earnings ranging between negative $0.05 to $0.02 per share. Revenues are projected in a range of $209 million to $219 million.

Analysts, based on consensus, currently expect the company to report a full-year loss of $0.04 per share on revenues of $198.33 million.
