Meredith Phillips ("The Bachelorette") recently sat down with People magazine to discuss her battle with the bottle. She told the mag that at her most insatiable she was packing away 20 bottles of wine per week.
"For years I'd wake up every day feeling like I was hit by a truck. But I realized I was going to kill myself . . . There wasn't another path for me other than to stop . . . I'm finally starting to live my life again."
Nowadays she's clean and sober, taking refuge in the gym to help keep herself occupied:
"I need to get back in the gym. I should really be taking better care of myself. But I really can only focus on one thing at a time right now."
The People issue with Phillips hits newsstands on Friday.
