Steve Forrest, most well-known for his role in the 1970s action drama "S.W.A.T.," has died at his home in Thousand Oakes, California at the age of 87, a rep for his family told E! News.
"S.W.A.T.," which was aired from 1975-1976, followed the actions of the Los Angeles Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics unit. Forrest's character, Hondo, was known for his signature line, "Let's Roll."
Forrest, born as William Andrews in Huntsville, Texas, served in the Army during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Afterwards, he attended school at UCLA and began appearing in movies and TV shows after Gregory Peck discovered him in a play at La Jolla Playhouse.
Forrest's last role was in a 2003 film adaptation of the series, starring Samuel L. Jackson as Hondo. Forrest had a bit part as a truck driver.
