Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (CMTL) announced Tuesday that its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology Inc., has recently been awarded four contracts totaling $2.5 million for high-power dual-band traveling wave tube amplifiers or TWTAs for the U.S. Navy satellite communications systems.

Comtech Xicom's XTRD-2000C/X provides 2 KW of power from a rack-mounted system below-deck. The XTD-450T is antenna-mounted and provides more than 350W of power. These amplifiers will help provide high priority, high capacity voice, data, and video to combat and support vessels.

The U.S. Navy terminals utilize X-band over the Defense Satellite Communications System or "DSCS" or allied military satellites and C-band over commercial satellites.
