Serco Group plc (SRP.L), the international service company, said it was granted a new Management, Operation and Maintenance contract for the Tsing Sha Control Area by the Hong Kong Transport Department. The contract, which may begin in September, has a six-year base period with a total estimated value to Serco of HK$960 million, or around 80 million pounds.
Pursuant to the contract, Serco would provide management and operation of theTsing Sha Control Area, including collection of tolls, traffic control and regulation, vehicle recovery and rescue, patrols and handling of incidents. Also, Serco would in charge of scheduled works, including regular inspectionand routine maintenance of bridges, buildings, tunnels, equipment, trafficsignals and IT systems.
Further, the company would partner with several specialist providers, including a joint venture partner, Lam Construction.
