Japan May M2 Money Stock +3.4% On Year

The M2 money stock in Japan was up 3.4 percent on year in May, the Bank of Japan said on Tuesday, standing at 843.8 trillion yen.

That missed forecasts for an increase of 3.5 percent following the downwardly revised gain of 3.2 percent in April (originally 3.3 percent).

The M3 money stock gained an annual 2.8 percent to 1,151.9 trillion yen - matching forecasts after gaining 2.6 percent in the previous month.

The L money stock gained 2.8 percent on year to 1,502.5 trillion yen after rising 2.2 percent a month earlier.
