Stephen Stills has teamed up with blues rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd to form the new supergroup, The Rides. Keyboardist Barry Goldberg (Electric Flag) rounds out the trio of musicians.
The band's first album, Can't Get Enough, will feature originals songs as well as covers of Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Neil Young and Iggy and the Stooges.
The project began with Stills and Goldberg hooking up to write material at the suggestion of their mutual manager, Elliot Roberts.
"It was like finding a long lost soul brother," said Goldberg. "We connected on so many things, started jamming, and soon had begun writing our first song."
Shepherd added that the band is a "perfect mix of generations . . . blues is the fabric that holds [it] all together."
