Media baron Rupert Murdoch has reportedly parted ways with his wife Wendi Deng Murdoch. The 82-year-old reportedly opened divorce proceedings in a Manhattan court room on Thursday, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The Journal reports that Murdoch included a document with the filing claiming that the "the relationship between the husband and wife has broken down irretrievably." The couple wed in 1999 and have two daughters together Grace and Chloe, ages 11 and 9.
The split will reportedly have no impact in the succession structure of Murdoch's News Corp, which is held in a family trust. Both his daughters and Deng hold shares in the News Corp trust, but are non-voting parties.
