Neil Young and Willie Nelson have been added to the Farm Aid 2013 lineup, which benefits the nation's food producers.

Young, who is one of the charity event's co-founders, has previously taken part in the event, which takes place this year on September 21 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He'll take the stage with Nelson, who launched the concert event in 1985, and John Mellencamp.

Nelson said of this year's concert: "In New York and across the Northeast, family farmers are pioneering change in our farm and food system. This region has strong agricultural roots and offers fertile ground for new farmers and sustainable agriculture. On the Farm Aid stage in September, we'll celebrate the hard work of family farmers and support their efforts to grow strong and healthy communities for all of us."

Young added: "Just as rock & roll is loud and proud, so is Farm Aid. Farm Aid's greatest accomplishment, I believe, is in the spirit. It's the fact that we represent the spirit of the good fight, to keep something good happening. It just keeps getting stronger and stronger."
