Megadeth Address Matters Of The Heart On New Album

Megadeth address more emotional topics on their new album Super Collider than they have done on past records.

Megadeth fronter Dave Mustaine explained that he wanted to take a "new angle" on the band's fourteenth release, and human relationships wound up being more of a focus:

"[The album is] a little bit more about human politics this time, like my mother-in-law having Alzheimers and things like that. So I figured I would write about what goes on inside my heart instead of inside my head this time, and I think it really came across that way."

He added: "People are so polarized they'll chuck a musician that they really like because of them being a Democrat or them being a Republican or whatever. I'm not a partisan guy. I was trying to walk away from all this controversy and stuff that seems to follow me and let the music do the talking."

The album debuted at number six on the Billboard 200, and the band will launch their Gigantour in Gilford, New Hampshire on July 3.
