The infamous serial killer dubbed by the media as the "Night Stalker" has died, Reuters is reporting.
Richard Ramirez, 53, was convicted of killing 13 people in the 1980s in the Los Angeles area of California.
Ramirez died from complications of B-cell lymphoma on June 7 at Marin General Hospital, where he had been taken for treatment.
He had been on death row in San Quentin State Prison and had been housed at the prison since 1989.
Ramirez was convicted in a killing spree that lasted from June 1984 to August 1985. He killed most of his victims by breaking into their homes at night.
His killings were particularly brutal, including gouging out a woman's eye, scrawling pentagrams in lipstick and killing two elderly women with a hammer to their heads.
Ramirez was also convicted of sexual assaults, burglary and attempted murder.
His victims ranged in age from 6 to 59.
