The New Zealand dollar extended downtrend against the US dollar for the second consecutive session on Tuesday, falling to a 5-day low of 0.7957 around 3:25 am ET, down 0.4 percent from Monday's close of 0.7989.
The kiwi-greenback pair is expected to extend its decline beyond the key 0.78 level as last week's rally above the 0.81 level seems to have a corrective one in a long-term bearish trend that began in early April. The near-term support for the pair is seen around the 0.79 level.
