Art Garfunkel walked off the stage at a show in Long Island after an audience member's cell phone repeatedly went off. The shows, dubbed "An Intimate Rehearsal," took place on June 7-8 and, according to the New York Post, Garfunkel did not appreciate that audience etiquette.

The Post reports that the offending fan was none other than the Town of Hampstead Supervisor Jon Kaimen. An eyewitness of the incident dished: "Art stormed off stage, only to return 10 minutes later to finish his set when Jon apologized."

Kaiman's office issued an official statement on the incident: "Art Garfunkel was brilliant and gracious, and his music sounds better without a buzzing cellphone."

Another audience member at one of the performances passed out due to excitement and had to be carried out of the venue.
