The Eagles catalog, which was previously withheld from subscription music services, is now available on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Rhapsody, Rdio and Deezer. Nine of the group's LPs are up, including their self-titled debut and Hotel California. All nine records have been fully remastered.
The band's catalog briefly appeared on Rdio a couple months ago, but quickly disappeared. An insider, speaking with Billboard, said that the band's management was behind the removal.
The band's singer-songwriter Don Henley, writes the Boot, is a longtime advocate for musicians rights, and has long been critical of the role of subscription services.
The number of high-profile acts that refuse to give the rights to subscription services is ever-shrinking but still includes the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Tool and Garth Brooks.
