The pound edged higher against its major counterparts in early European deals on Monday.
The pound jumps to 1.5335 against the dollar around 5:45 am ET, its strongest level since June 27. The near-term resistance for the cable is seen around the 1.5350 area.
The British currency also rose as high as 153.23 against the yen, 1.4382 against the Swiss franc and 0.8598 against the euro around 6:00 am ET.
On the upside, the sterling may find target levels at 1.44 against the Swiss franc, 153.85 against the yen and 0.8575 against the euro.
