Apple Inc. (AAPL) is nearing a final deal to offer its iPhone through NTT DoCoMo Inc, Japan's largest mobile carrier, according to several reports. NTT DoCoMo may begin offering the iPhone later this year.
This marks an about-face for NTT DoCoMo, which has more than 60 million subscribers in Japan. It will become the last of Japan's three major carriers to offer the iPhone.
In addition, Apple will reportedly hold an event on September 10 where it is expected to unveil its next-generation iPhones.
