The yen extended previous sessions' downtrend against the Swiss franc in early New York trading on Thursday, falling back to below the key 109.0 level for the first time since August 1990.
As of 9:25 am ET, one franc was worth 109.10 yen. The next likely support for the Japanese currency against the Swiss franc is seen around the 110.50 area.
